GreenPan Review: Are these the best nonstick pans?

Are you looking for really good nonstick pans? In this GreenPan review, I’m going to be talking all about my new GreenPan skillets. Specifically, I will be looking at the Valencia Pro fry pan and the Spectra fry pan. I am super excited for this kitchen product review because these pans are amazing. I’ve been using them for the past six weeks, and I couldn’t be happier.

**Disclaimer: GreenPan did send these to me as a gift. They weren’t expecting a video or a review or anything like that. They’re not paying me for the review, but they did send them to me to check them out, and I’m glad they did, because these are awesome pans.

GreenPan Review: How are they Green?

3 fried eggs in a GreenPan hybrid skillet.

Like I said, last six weeks I’ve been using them. I’ve been using them for all my favorite things. I like to cook more on like a daily basis, like eggs, fried eggs, and scrambled eggs. And I’ve used the pans for skillet vegetables and grilled cheese sandwiches, and pot stickers. And the non-stick capability on these is incredible. Definitely the best pans I have used. And I don’t say that lightly. I do have my hexclad pans, and I still like those, but ever since I’ve gotten these, I haven’t even touched my hexclad pans again.

And why GreenPan? Are they really green? GreenPan thrives on its healthy cooking, and the Valencia Pro ceramic nonstick pans are made from 65% or more recycled aluminum. And the nonstick on both the Valencia Pro and the Spectra pans is PFAS-free and PFOA-free. And also, there’s no lead and no cadmium in them. Unlike many traditional nonstick cookware, especially Teflon non-stick cookware.

When these are used at a high heat, there are no harmful chemicals that are going to be released. Even if you accidentally leave them on the burner for too long, you don’t have to worry about any of that stuff. That is the GreenPan way, a healthier way of cooking. If that appeals to you, you might want to purchase these pans.

GeenPan Review: Spectra Hybrid Nonstick Pans

Now let’s take a look at both of these styles. First up is the Spectra Series frying pan. This is a classic hybrid style with a stainless steel and a ceramic coating.

Being a hybrid, it is almost like having 3 pans in one: A classic nonstick pan, a stainless steel pan, and a cast iron pan. And it’s definitely not as heavy as cast iron. Definitely more nonstick than cast iron. And again, it has a classic hybrid pan pattern, which helps with nonstick and helps with searing.

Here are some technical specs:

  • Hybrid 3-Ply Stainless Steel
  • Thermolon 9G Ceramic Nonstick coating – Again, no PFAS or PFOA or Lead, or Cadmium in these pans.
  • Metal Utensil Safe
  • Induction Ready
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Oven Safe up to 850°F. Although you really only need medium heat for these pans to work the best.
  • Stainless steel cube pattern, which helps distribute oil and gives incredible searing power. Perfect for steak, veggies, and other meats etc.

I have a 12-inch and a 10-inch, and couldn’t be happier with these pans. They are easy to clean. Although they are dishwasher safe, I always handwash them. Just a little hot soapy water, and a soft sponge, don’t use a Brillow pad, and then rinse and dry.

The handles feel really good in my hand, and they do not heat up when on the stovetop burner. They will heat up at high temperatures in the oven, of course. The pans are fairly light for their size, making it easy to pick them up and move them around, even with lots of food in them.

GreenPan Review: Valencia Pro Ceramic Pans

Hand holding an 8 inch Valencia Pro series GreenPan.

The Valencia Pro series is a classic ceramic nonstick style of pans. I have an 8-inch, 9.5-inch, and 11-inch; they came in a 3-pack. These pans are made with at least 65% recycled aluminum and then have the Thermolon 9G healthy ceramic non-stick coating on them.

Here are a few of the technical specs:

  • Made with recycled aluminum
  • Thermolon 9G
  • Toxin-free: There is no PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium in the pans.
  • Scratch-resistant: Metal utensil safe, although I still don’t use metal utensils on mine.
  • Induction ready
  • Dishwasher safe: Again, I still handwash these pans.
  • Oven-Safe up to 650°F

Again, each has a really nice handle, very ergonomic for your hand, and is very light. These pans are super easy to clean as well.

These pans really excel with eggs and pancakes, and things like that.

GreenPan Final Thoughts

I just love that these are truly non-stick. And either one, you can use on the burner, and then you can cook the food the rest of the way in the oven if you need to. They are my favorite nonstick pans that I have ever owned and I don’t say that lightly. They are amazing pans.

I have been extremely happy with these pans, and I would 100% recommend them to anyone.
