Time to learn how to make pancakes in the air fryer. Pancakes are awesome, such a good breakfast to make. This air fryer pancakes recipe is easy to follow and turns out pretty well. I don’t necessarily think this is the best way to cook pancakes, but it does work, so if you need to use your air fryer to make pancakes, follow this recipe.

Ingredients

Several different pancake ingredients in bowls on a wooden cutting board.

To make air fryer pancakes you need just a handful of simple ingredients and tools. I normally just follow this pancake recipe for the batter. But any pancake batter should work.

  • Flour – I use all-purpose flour, but cake flour works great too. You can also use self-rising flour, but if you do, omit the baking powder and half of the salt.
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Milk – Any milk will work for this.
  • Egg – If you don’t want to use an egg, follow this egg replacement guide.
  • Butter
  • Vanilla extract, optional.

How to cook pancakes in the air fryer

Whisk allowing pancake batter to drip off it into the bowl of batter.

Start by preheating your air fryer for 3 minutes at 350°F or 176°C. While the air fryer is preheating, you can make your pancake batter.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Then add the milk and egg, and melted butter, and whisk until all combined. Add vanilla extract, too, if you wish.

Hand with spatula pouring cake batter into a silver cake pan.

Grease a cake pan that will fit inside your air fryer basket with butter, shortening, or cooking oil. Then pour in some pancake batter. Usually, a 6 to 8-inch cake pan will fit, but it depends on your particular air fryer.

NOTE: If you are using the silicone mold, no need to grease it.

Cooked pancake in an air fryer basket.

Place the basket in the air fryer and cook it at 350°F or 176°C for 6 to 10 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean when poked in the center, and the pancake is lightly browned. It will probably mound up a little bit, which is normal. And they won’t brown the same on top as they do when cooking them in a skillet or pancake griddle.

There you go, your air fryer pancakes are done.

Now use tongs or an oven mitt to grab the pan out of the basket, then flip the pan over so the pancake can fall out onto your plate.

Serve the pancakes however you like. Enjoy!

Do I need to keep putting oil in the pan after each pancake?

You may need to, it depends on what kind of cake pan you are using.
