Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Garlic and Bacon

The best way to eat Brussel Sprouts are roasted. This roasted Brussel Sprouts with Garlic and Bacon recipe is really easy to make and is a great side dish. I will admit growing up I did not like eating Brussel Sprouts, but now they are one of my favorite things to eat. This recipe is also Keto friendly.

  • Cast iron or stainless steel skillet or use a 9x13 pan
  • Tongs
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

  • About 1 pound of Brussel Sprouts washed (450g)
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. of olive oil 30 to 45ml
  • 4 to 6 garlic cloves halved
  • 3 to 4 strips of bacon certainly add more or less or leave it out
  • 1 Tbsp. Balsamic vinegar 15ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste

  • First preheat the oven to 400 F (205 C). Make sure to wash and dry your Brussel sprouts. Next cut off about 1/4 inch of the ends. Then cut them in half lengthwise. If they are really large, cut them in 4ths. :) Prep the garlic by cutting each end, then removing the shell, then cut those in half. Prep the bacon, but taking 3 to 4 strips and cut them in small pieces.
  • Take a cast iron or stainless steel (oven safe) pan and heat it up between medium and medium high heat. Add in most of your oil, and let the oil heat up for a few minutes. Then you can start to add the Brussel sprouts, cut side down.
  • Using your tongs you can turn over any Sprouts to have their cut side down, you don't have to get too crazy with it, I don't do them all. Then add in your garlic and bacon pieces. Let the Brussel Sprouts cook for a few minutes until the flat side looks nice and brown. Then place the pan in the oven. While in the oven, every 7 to 8 minutes take them out and move them around with tongs, to ensure even roasting. They will wind up cooking for about 30 minutes or so in the oven. You can skip the stovetop cooking step, and just add the Brussel sprouts, garlic, and bacon, in a 9x13 pan, and go straight in the oven. :)
  • When they come out of the oven they will be nice and roasted evenly and the bacon will be crispy. Next season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Then add in your balsamic vinegar. Now you are ready to serve! Serve them warm. Enjoy! :)

Nutrition facts based on 6 servings, this portion size is fairly small. You can make it more healthy by adding less bacon. But that is ill-advised...lol Just kidding. :)
